Journal Hunt suggests journals that might suit your manuscript. It is a research aid, not advice, and the decision about where to submit is always yours.
What the service does
You give us keywords, an abstract, or a subject area. We compare them against a catalogue of academic journals and return those whose published work looks closest to yours.
What we do not promise
- That a journal will accept your paper. A good match means the journal publishes work in your area. Acceptance depends on peer review, and on things we cannot see.
- That the catalogue is complete or current. It is built from OpenAlex and DOAJ and refreshed periodically. Journals change scope, merge and close, and indexing status changes without notice.
- That every detail is accurate. Article processing charges, open access status and indexing come from third-party sources. Always check the journal’s own site before you submit.
Inclusion is not an endorsement, and absence is not a criticism. A journal appears if it is listed in OpenAlex’s curated set or in DOAJ. We do not assess journal quality and we make no claim about any publisher’s practices.
Your account
Give us an email address you control, and keep your shortlist links private — anyone holding a link can see that shortlist. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@journalhunt.org.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- scrape the catalogue or automate searches at volume
- attempt to reach data belonging to other users
- submit anyone else’s unpublished work without their permission
- use the service to break any law
Your work stays yours
You keep every right in the abstract you paste. We claim no licence over it. We do not store it, share it, or use it to train anything — see the privacy notice.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranty. We are not liable for any loss arising from a submission decision you make using it — including rejection, delay, or fees paid to a publisher. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
