That is the whole list. It never leaves your browser, it is not sent to us, and it identifies nobody. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, storage strictly necessary for a service you asked for does not need consent — and a remembered theme is about as far from tracking as storage gets.
Why there is no banner
Cookie banners exist because sites set cookies that track you. We decided not to set any, so there is nothing to ask you about. If that ever changes we will add a proper banner with a working reject button, and say so here first.
Counting visitors
We do show a visitor count, and it is collected without storing anything on your device. A visit is identified by a hash of your IP and browser plus a secret that changes daily, so you cannot be followed from one day to the next. Nothing is written to your browser, so there is nothing to consent to. The privacy notice explains it in full.
Our analytics
We use Plausible to see which pages are read and which sites people arrive from. It is worth knowing why this does not change anything above: Plausible sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is still nothing to consent to and still no banner.
It works the same way our visitor count does — a visit is recognised by a hash of your IP and browser with a secret that is deleted every 24 hours, so nobody, including us, can follow you from one day to the next. Plausible does not store IP addresses, and your data stays in the European Union. What you type into the search is never part of it.
Server logs
Our host records ordinary web server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the service running and to defend against abuse. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours to limit how many signups one person can create. Details are in the privacy notice.
